Pastel Canaan Workshop

We had beautiful weather this week and got a chance to do a little plein air painting in Peacham overlooking on of the ubiquitous and amazing views.  This is a little 8 x 8.

Then the rains came and along with it a one day pastel workshop in Canaan, NH.  True to form, my plein air workshop became an indoor one and it was a great group!  Did this pastel demo and mostly we were hard working and cold!  54 degrees on one of the first days of summer.  Fun anyway

This 9 x 12 was started as a demo in my Monday oil class but finished in the studio.  I feel like these city scenes are getting too tight and am attempting to figure out how to change that

 Just back from teaching a 3 day "plein air" workshop with the Pastel Society of America.  It's in quotes because the first two days weather prevented us from heading out. Fun anyway and great group!
