ILLINOIS PRAIRIE PASTEL SOCIETY

 I had a totally wonderful time teaching a workshop with the Illinois Prairie Pastel Society in Springfield, Illinois.  A great group!  Here are my demos...all 9 x 12 and also the group.

MIDWEST PASTEL SOCIETY ZOOM DEMO

I had a nice time doing this demo for the Midwest Pastel Society.  I thought it was supposed to be a 3 hour demo...yikes...so I put together a complicated still life.  Turned out to be a 1.5 hour time slot which was perfect timing for me.

PORTRAIT DEMO MONDAY

I like to do different images when demonstrating either oils or pastels.  It is because the process is the same regardless of what I paint.  It always goes from general, color fields and values to details...even in a portrait.

 I have a few new pieces.  The little oil is from my Monday class, the small pastel with people from a zoom workshop with the Adirondack Pastel Society.  The 16 x 20 is my latest pastel from my studio.

MONDAY OIL DEMO 1/15/24

 Did this 8 x 10 oil demo for class.  It is always about simplifying the complicated and thinking of shapes, color and value before details.

TWO NEW ONES

 Here are two new oils done recently.  The flowers were a demo though I went back in and improved the vase after.  It is 8 x 10 oil on board.

The landscape was from my studio.  It is a view in Peacham, VT looking towards the White Mountains.  12 x 16 oil on canvas.
