More flowers. The vase was again, put together as abstract shapes of lights, darks, warms and cools until a vase emerged.

Paint America Top 100

I just found out that these three paintings, Beach Romp 12 x 16 oil on canvas has been accepted to the Paint America Top 100 contest and Birch Tree 9 x 12 inch pastel and Santa Cruz 9 x 12 inch oil painting have been accepted to the Paint America Top 100 Mini paintings contest!

Flower demo

A demonstration of flower painting..a difficult thing to do. Getting started can be daunting. Another example of thinking in the abstract of shapes and not getting into details until later.

Combining Images

This pastel is a demonstration for my CCV pastel class. I took more than one of my photos to create a design. It is necessary to make sure when you do this that the sizes of the images mesh as well as the lighting. In this case, the boy in the foreground is taken from a photo that had much more detail but that would not have worked in the final.
