I plan to post current paintings on my blog site. I'm not much of a writer but I do love to paint. I do oils and pastels and I teach workshops. I plan to sometimes post demos and talk about how to create a painting as well.

Hi all...I have an art sale at my studio around Christmas and New Year. I got snowed out on Saturday and might reschedule. If anyone is interested in coming by my studio, please email me or, or Facebook text me to arrange a time.
It is so interesting and difficult practicing watercolors...and this is for me...not to "add to my repetoir" of abilities...but to be the old dog learning new tricks. The challenge is immense and frustrating and satisfying
"In the Studio" a 10 x 10 oil on canvas. Really struggled here..wanted it very loose but recognizable. The artist in the front was the hardest...finally made her "almost there" in order not to bring too much attention to her
I have been wanting to improve in watecrolor for some time. Really good watercolorists amaze me. The process is so different than the way I paint in pastels or oils. In those, I create shapes by both positive and then carving with negative ones to define things. In watercolor, I feel so much is drawing and thinking where things go. Anyway, here is an attempt..a French scene.
The wonderful Landgrove Inn where I teach Figure Painting in Oil or Pastel appears on this podcast. It is a wonderful inn with a great studio building where some pretty great artists give workshops. I am honored to be among them. Tom and Maureen are the best hosts and the food is amazing too!
Still missing and dreaming of Ireland. This gorgeous little village is Kenmare on the Ring of Kerry. We didn't paint in this town...too crowded. But that didn't stop me from taking photos. 9 x 12 oil on board demo from Monday morning
What an amazing trip in Ireland! We were on the Ring of Kerry surrounded by ocean, amazing hills and valleys, fabulous people, wonderful students and let's not forget, Guiness...which is delicious in Ireland.
some of my efforts here...though capturing what we saw is difficult
My last demo from Aiken and part of the second session group of students. I so enjoyed everyone from both sessions and especially my host and friend, Kathy Lewis and all her horses, cats and of course, dogs Dazzle and Flash
What a thoroughly enjoyable group! It's very hot in Aiken so I only did one plein air...the partial house from yesterday's post and it was at 8am. But the group is so nice and the space where we paint is great.
