Jericho Workshop

It's fall, beautiful colors everywhere and my workshops start up again in full swing.  This was from my pastel workshop in Jericho, VT.  A fabulous and talented group of artists and the weather was perfect!

Most of the animal oriented paintings I have done are in oil.  So, since I will be jurying the Pastel 100 Animal/Wildlife category, I have been developing some pastel ones.  Geese is a 9 x 12 pastel

 Despite predictions of three days of sun, we had one day and 2 of rain.  My students soldiered on!  Heather fields was from our sunny day, but Fells Flower Pots and Playful Tree were rainy so I chose to encourage my students to think beyond the gray and green and have some fun...be courageous with color!

Did this little painting 9 x 12 oil on canvas.  Still debating the rocks vs the figures and if the rocks should be less defined.

Artist Magazine 31st

Liliana's Living Room has been chosen as a finalist in Artist Magazine's 31st annual art competition.  It was a luck day when I painted this!  It will be going to Denver for the American Impressionist National Show this fall as well.
