Pastel Demo

This is my pastel demo from class today. Started out very abstract. The idea I tried to convey is that if you think glass vase, you get confused. If you squint and look at shapes and values in an abstract way, you can go as far as you like with it. It is a process from general shapes to details.

Heading down the Road

This is a 20 x 20 inch painting I did as a demo for my class. I wanted to talk about the drama of creating a design where the foreground is big and essentially "empty" while the jewels of color are at the top. In this way, one is traveling down the road instead of just standing stationary and looking at a scene.

Retro Toaster

This was the demo from today. Lots of fun and I got to see some amazing progress in some of my students!
