Backview nude

Back to pastels in my drawing group. I am thrilled to be asked to show my pastels in the Blue Heron Gallery in Wellfleet, Mass. Need to create a lot by May!

Horses, Mackinaw Island

The second in my paintings for Mackinaw Island. There are no cars on this island but a lot of horses.

Spring Harbor Mackinaw Island

After being away and then nursing a bad cold, finally got into my studio. I was able to complete my first painting for my new gallery on Mackinaw Island in Michigan.

Spaghetti Sauce

This was a still life demo for my painting class. I wanted a still life with a theme.

Pastel Workshop

During my recent pastel workshop, I introduced the idea of doing an object in ten strokes. In oils, you can pre mix the color, but in pastels it's an added challenge. This apple was done in ten strokes which encouraged the students to be very deliberate with their color choices and strokes. The onions were another demo using loose strokes and dynamic color.

Pastel Nude 30 min

I didn't have my usual pastel paper and tried this out...fun but prefer Colorfix or Richeson.

5 minute nude painting

Quickly toned some paper to do this painting...5 minute pose.
