  1. Love the light in this painting and I look forward to the moment I can be in that chair enjoying the sun.

  2. Aline! I am so glad you weren't offended by my 'ant eater' remark...
I looked at this painting a long while in 'large format' because I am amazed by how you convey so much info in a stroke. I first saw this in 'Racing in the Park'(shown in the Pastel Journal: little boy running, adults slouching & smiling, cold weather.
As in that pastel, you tell an entire story in this oil 'demo.' One man intent w/ binoculars, the person next to him absorbed in the other direction. NO facial features, only slight dabs for hands, feet--but perfect human proportions, so that's what we see: humans w/ attitudes!
How many times do you think you've painted/drawn the human figure? Oh, to have such 'muscle memory' in my hand when I paint!Practice, practice, practice, right? I'm on it right now. (& the 4" X 10" paper is FUN!) L&K, MaryB

  3. Thank you for your thoughts. I am glad you see the body language that is so important. I love drawing the human figure. Love to see some of your work sometime...don't see any on your blog.

  5. Aline, do you still have this little painting? I would love to see it in person.
