Did this in the studio today...12 x 16 oil on canvas. I was drawn to the warm tones of the soil in contrast to the blues on the barn. And I always love cows!

  1. Beautifully painted, Aline. Wonderful color of the soil and love the shadow work under the tree. Love it.!!

  2. You DO love cows, Aline, & I am glad--they make your work calming, but they add life. Literally. Take away the cows & this would still be beautiful, but static. Animals make scenes 'breathe' just as much as humans do.

I love the coral-red color peeping out all over the canvas & I, too, like that big tree shadow. I study your trees, too. Most trees in nature,I FINALLY noticed, are gray-green or gray blue. That's just how you paint yours. I found, too, that I tended to paint my 'symbol' for tree--not the big weird shapes they actually are.

This is a great piece, Aline, especially because my eye just keeps circling around the canvas. Nothing leads out from it. I surely learn a lot from your work, Aline--I'm so glad you share it!
