pastel demo on glass

This was the demo from pastel class this morning.  The idea was to deal with shape in terms of value and color and not think "glass"  Observation rather than drawing what you think you see.

A pastel demo to show how to paint silver...don't think silver, just paint the shapes you see til it evolves

Must be the time of year...my demo from the other week.

Horses on Parade demo

Horses on Parade is my demo from today's class.  It was all about simplification and movement.

Just found out that Heading Down the Road will appear in the Competition Spotlight column of The Artist Magazine in a 2014 issue!  It's a 300 word article about the painting and me and I'll update you all when I know the issue!

Fells Workshop

Fells Gate Pastel

Demos from workshop at the Fells in Newbury, NH.  Great students and beautiful location.  The final demo was to inspire students who were "sick of green" to have fun with color as long as the values and intensity work
