The Girls...a 12 x 24 oil on canvas.  A tough one.  Not sure I accomplished what I wanted.  It's possible there are too many "girls" taking attention.  Going to live with it a while

 I had the honor of doing a demo for the CT Pastel Society's Renaissance Pastel Show.  It was a beautiful show of work and a little intimidating for me.  I chose this photo so I could talk about painting shapes, not "houses" and changing colors to suit the painting...not being wedded to the photo but simply inspired by it

Morning Light, Truchas, NM

 Truchas, New Mexico is proving to be a haven for artists.  The lights and color are beyond imagining.  My students are surpassing themselves!  The two pastels are demos from different times of day.  The portrait was inspired by seeing Nicolai Fechin's work in Taos...He is amazing.  My very humble effort...a sister of one of my students kindly modeled for me.
