I plan to post current paintings on my blog site. I'm not much of a writer but I do love to paint. I do oils and pastels and I teach workshops. I plan to sometimes post demos and talk about how to create a painting as well. Please check out my website at www.alineordman.com

Colorful Camden, ME
This 12 x 16, "Colorful Camden, ME" oil on canvas was another demo in looking at shapes and not worrying about what they are. My students kept asking..."Are you starting to paint actual objects?" and I kept saying no, I am only looking at shapes.

Joan's Garden
My friend Joan has the most beautiful little courtyard garden. The light dappled it so invitingly. "Joan's Garden" is a 12 x 16 oil on canvas

Shrimp House
While teaching on Kiawah, we went to Rockville and did houses and trees. But nearby some students went to this shrimp house. I couldn't go as I was teaching, but we dropped by on the way back and I loved the scene! I took photos though they weren't great but when I painted this, I looked at them but remembered what I'd seen that day as well.

Bathroom Sink
While teaching at the Landgrove Inn, I saw the sink in the bathroom of the studio. I thought it would make an interesting subject to play with so I did this as my Monday demo. It was an exercise in playing with "grays" and taking the ordinary and making it more.
