I plan to post current paintings on my blog site. I'm not much of a writer but I do love to paint. I do oils and pastels and I teach workshops. I plan to sometimes post demos and talk about how to create a painting as well.

Thrilled to have Rockville, SC accepted to the 16th annual American Impressionist Society's juried show
Aline! I am so happy you got juried in! You've gotten in to this show before, I believe--I recall a Venice bridge scene that you entered. At any rate, I think this is a very interesting & beautiful piece, indeed. Also, very Impressionistic! From a slight distance, it looks perfectly detailed, yet, up close, each stroke is simply a dab of color. As always, it's like magic: your seemingly random strokes of paint 'read' perfectly from 6 feet away. If this competition adheres to what the original Impressionists aimed for, you've got it in the bag! Good luck to you--the painting is awesome. L&K, MaryB
Thank you Mary! You are so nice to comment. I did this on location in a workshop I was teaching and I had no idea if it was working or not. Up close it is just a bundle of colors and then when I stepped back I was surprised!
