These are demos from my Landgrove Inn Pastel Figure Drawing workshop in Vermont. It is a beautiful inn with wonderful ownders, food and great workshops.
The portraits are about 20 minutes and the two figures are 3 minutes, the other 10 minutes.

These are all so beautiful, Aline. You captured that amazing light on them...what kind of paper did you use.. Did you use sanded paper to achieve that texture? Excellent work!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Aline! These ARE lovely! And you set the land speed record for laying in all the important info for a pastel portrait--just amazing. Like Hmuxo above, I'd like to know the paper you used--Wallis Belgian Mist? If so, how do you get the eye detail & such? I LOVE the way you 'carve' figures out of thin air! And I 'get' using Wallis for that. But the faces? Wow. If you used Wallis for those faces, I'm really impressed!

Thank you both! I used Sennelier La Carte Sanded pastel card. I think it is a better texture for portraits...allows a little more modeling. I used Ludwig and Unison pastels.
