I am thrilled to announce "On the Pond" was accepted into the:
IAPS 5th Juried Master Circle Exhibition at the 2019 IAPS Convention PastelWorld Exhibition!!
I was one of three jurors for the regular exhibition along with Liz Haywood Sullivan and Sally Carpenter and it was a long process and a very nice collaboration. Having gone through it, I am especially grateful to have been accepted by the jurors for this Masters exhibition.
I will be teaching a workshop at this convention as well as doing a demo. I think it will all be fabulous and am so honored to be included.
I plan to post current paintings on my blog site. I'm not much of a writer but I do love to paint. I do oils and pastels and I teach workshops. I plan to sometimes post demos and talk about how to create a painting as well. Please check out my website at www.alineordman.com

On the pond done in oil
Did this in pastels and wanted to demo it in oil. I kept it very loose and within the timing of the demo...around 45 minutes. I know it could go further in details but I'm encouraging my students to stop and live with the painting for a bit. Often they are frustrated that they went too far and liked their earlier efforts.

another portrait
I did this portrait of my future son in law's nephew. Kids are hard and because they are in constant motion when awake, photos of them can be hard to find. Did my best...but this kid is way cuter.

10 strokes january
Did some ten stroke exercises for my Monday oil group. This helps to make each stroke count and I also encouraged them to change the hue of each stroke. These serve as good beginnings for any painting...putting in values and color fields first and then details.
