CAFE IN CAMBRIDGE

This one was difficult!  It wasn't that the figures were hard to do or define, it was that it was so incredibly boring.  It's a discussion to be had among artists how you can do a painting well, "realistically" and all but it remains a total yawn.  This was one such painting.  So, I attacked it with a palette knife, took figures out, and tried to work thinking abstractly the whole time.  Not sure I accomplished my goal but I do know it's better than it was

EMINENT PASTELIST

I AM THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE BEEN AWARDED EMINENT PASTELIST WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PASTEL SOCIETIES (IAPS)

This is the highest classification one can achieve with IAPS and it is based on the number of shows I have been accepted to as well as awards won.  I will join many of my esteemed pastel artists and friends at the IAPS convention in Albuquerque in June to receive this award.

My most prestigious award; The Prix de Pastel at IAPS 2017
