oil and pastel demos

These are two recent demos.  The landscape is an oil demo from my Monday class and mostly used palette knife and talked about how to design the foreground to enhance looking beyond it.

The pastel is from a small workshop I taught privately.

Oil Painters of America National Juried Show

WOW!  Pontoon Boat has been accepted to the Oil Painters of America's National Juried Show! This is the toughest one and though I am now a signature member, this is only the 4th time one of my paintings has been accepted.  I'm surprised and thrilled!

Finish Line finishes Big

Well, the magazine is out and I couldn't be more proud.  This year's top winner in the Pastel Journal top 100 is...me!  "Finish Line" was my 16 x 20 demo at the IAPS convention in Albuquerque last year and I was beyond amazed when it won.  I was interviewed for the article they did on me and I am so impressed with how literate the author makes me sound!

Turkey Farm

I've done this image before but one of my students asked me to do this one.  I used a fair amount of palette knife and then a brush to push the paint around

AIS Small Works show

I am thrilled to be accepted into the American Impressionist Society's Small Works Show for 2020.  I was not accepted into either AIS show last year so I am especially excited!  I feel pretty comfortable with my pastels, so I submit my oils to AIS which has been more challenging.
