Jupiter Florida Workshop

Kanuga Watermedia Workshops

 Just back from teaching a 5 day pastel workshop at Kanuga Watermedia workshops in Hendersonville, NC.  We had about 270 students and 12 instructors and it was one of the most creative and inspiring weeks I've ever had.

Tuscon Pastel Society Workshop

 These are demos from my wonderful 3 day workshop in Tuscon with their Pastel Society.  You can see the photo I referenced for the kitchen lady and the first thing I did for the street scene.  It was all about design and simplification

 Here are my demos from my wonderful workshop on Kiawah Island in South Carolina.  They are all oils except the sunset on water one.  And of course, one 10 stroke pear

....and now for something a little different

So...I decided to work this still life...and those oranges were a total distraction in the painting.  Finally decided to cut them out.  The cup isn't quite right yet but my aim was to create a shape adding and carving paint and give the sense of light.
