On the lead

Just finished "On the Lead" a 9 x 12 oil on canvas.  Started with the burnt sienna ground.  Wasn't sure about the background as I left it plain.  But, I liked the way it began to emerge from that. Added the yellow line at the end to separate back from foreground...not sure I'll keep it

    Aline, this is a fantastic painting. I love the colors and subject... I as well think you can omit the separation line...I don't think you need it since the bottom is darker...love this one....

    Luscious colors! I'm thinking this might be reference from Saratoga races. So refreshing to see another take on this subject.
