Heading down the Road

This is a 20 x 20 inch painting I did as a demo for my class. I wanted to talk about the drama of creating a design where the foreground is big and essentially "empty" while the jewels of color are at the top. In this way, one is traveling down the road instead of just standing stationary and looking at a scene.

Retro Toaster

This was the demo from today. Lots of fun and I got to see some amazing progress in some of my students!

Light through trees

This is a 30 x 30 inch painting as part of my efforts to do larger paintings. Working on one today too.

Picture Perfect

Snowing all day so didn't go to the studio but instead painted with my neighbor and friend Joan. This is an oil on canvas 11 x 14.

Cafe´

This is called Cafe´and is a 12 x 36 inch canvas. Once again it is challenging for me to design this. I do take the basic image from a photo I took in Paris, but it is far from a replica. I am trying to walk the fine line between abstract and illustrative.
