My demo from my pastel class.  The original photo below  had more elements and I simplified it for this image.  It was a lesson in design as well as color and value.

Along the River...no green

This pastel was a demo in my class to show how to work from a photo or landscape but change the colors so that no major color from the photo is really in the final painting.  It is an exercise in understanding value and intensity of colors in relation to the overall painting.

These are horseracing demos, one oil for the oil class and one in pastel for the pastel class.  They  aren't done yet.
